Day 2 and target achieved. Moville to Greencastle to
Shroove and Inishowen Head. Then back the high road towards Greencastle and
turning into a steep climb before descending into beautiful Kinnogue Bay. I'm
pleased with 24.08kms on day 2.

Weather today was mixed at first with a few heavy
showers but they were very short. Cloudy with the sun trying to break through
and a cooling gentle breeze. I could have danced on the section from Moville
to Greencastle. The hard shoulder was mainly grass and my feet are still
feeling the benefits. I could have danced but I remembered that even after
taking dancing lessons with Brenda I still have two left feet. Picture below
showing the first signs that the weather might turn for the better.

While the road from
Greencastle o Inishowen Head was fairly narrow and with very little room to
step aside the traffic volume was very low. The small beach here is so
beautiful. Wild flowers growing on the risks. Water lapping gently onto a
spotlessly clean strand. I relaxed here for a while a met Marie Stewart. We
exchanged stories and parted. A very interesting lady.

OK folks, what you think about these
windmills I saw on the final stretch of my walk on day two. I love them but I
don't live beside them and if I did i might have a different opinion.

majestic.. slowly turning , standing tall. BUT, I know they are noisy and

On the beach at Kinnagoe Bay. I could have stayed
for hours listening to Archie Jack (left) from Strabane, Chris Wolfe ( right)
from Banbridge and of course my good friend Brian Thompson. Brian and his
amazing wife Sharon have gone above and beyond to assist me, feed me and now
put me up for the night. Exceptional people.

I have a wee bit of a dilemma for tomorrow. I plan to go from Kinnagoe
Bay, where I finished off today, to Culdaff. The route I am looking at is the
roadway, going through Leckemy, Gleneely and then on to Culdaff. My local
friends tell me walking this stretch of road is not safe. They have suggested
an alternative route that keeps me on the beautiful coast and on minor
roads.This howevere means i deviate from the official WAW route.

that the stretch of road is unsafe by foot..then they know best. I don't
think anybody would hold it against you if you took a safer road.

Emma BatesI live on the WAW in south Galway and if it's anything like the main
road here, do not walk it. Narrow roads, stone walls and busses don't mix.

DohertyI think the best part of the WAW route is that people can deviate of
the main road and get even closer to our gorgeous coastline and it is far
nicer and safer to walk on quieter coastal routes.

A Bit of a Walk updated their status.
Day 1 I had my backpack stuffed and I also had two additional
large bags strapped the that. Way too much stuff and that's after going through
the contents several times and reducing do to what I thought was the no imum
required. Today I deposited more than half the contents at Brian's house. I
felt a significant difference walking today. So tomorrow morning I will
jettison all non essential stuff . I will just keep one change of clothes.
